Dr. Melillo’s philosophy of care centers on listening closely and partnering with patients to find the right solution. He offers both surgical and non-surgical options, ensuring personalized care for every condition. With extensive experience and a strong network of colleagues, he provides thoughtful guidance—even for more complex or challenging cases.
Dr. Melillo specializes in general podiatry, podiatric surgery, and pediatric foot care. He treats conditions such as plantar fasciitis, bunions, flat feet, and tendon disorders. His expertise includes bunion correction, ingrown toenail procedures, and advanced treatments like shockwave therapy, for which he is particularly well known.
Dr. Melillo’s path to podiatry was influenced by his father, a podiatrist who served as a strong role model. Seeing the impact his father had on patients inspired him to pursue a career focused on helping people stay active and healthy. He was also drawn to the specialty for its ability to restore mobility and meaningfully improve quality of life.
At Northwest Extremity Specialists’ Tigard Oleson and West Linn offices, Dr. Melillo enjoys building relationships with patients and understanding their lives beyond their symptoms. He takes a collaborative approach to care, working to get patients back on their feet as quickly and comfortably as possible while helping the Greater Portland community stay active and healthy.
Dr. Melillo graduated with honors from Fairfield University and from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and completed a comprehensive podiatric medical and surgical residency program at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco. He is active in the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is also the past president of the Oregon Podiatric Medical Association, serving from 2010 to 2014, and has served on the Executive Board for many years.
Dr. Melillo is dedicated to continuing his medical training through various educational seminars. He is an attending surgeon for the Legacy/Kaiser Portland Hospital’s Podiatric Surgical Residency Program and is board-certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. Additionally, Dr. Melillo has been voted “Top Doc” by Portland Monthly in the specialty of podiatry for 2014.

Dr. Beach’s experience as a four-year starter and team captain on the Michigan State Women’s Soccer team continues to shape her approach to podiatric care. Having competed at a high level, she understands the physical demands placed on the feet and ankles, as well as the importance of timely, effective treatment for athletes and non-athletes alike. This firsthand perspective allows her to connect with active patients and athletes, helping them recover confidently and return to the activities they love.

When he’s not at work, Dr. Melillo enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends. With six children and two grandchildren, family life is at the center of his world. At home, he and his family care for a lively mix of animals, including dogs, a cat, chickens, and goats.
Music and wine are two of his passions. Dr. Melillo is the President of Olea Records, an independent record label based in Portland, and he is on the board of Northwest Music Experience, a non-profit organization geared towards music and education. He also runs a small family vineyard, producing Pinot Noir in the Willamette Valley, where he also enjoys hosting gatherings with loved ones.
